ELAN PLAYMAKER 101 FACTORY EDITION Skis

ELAN PLAYMAKER 101 FACTORY EDITION – versatile freeride and freestyle skis 101 mm wide, Dual Float technology, Tubelite Woodcore, Carbon Rods, and Surf Rocker profile for complete freedom across the mountain

ELAN PLAYMAKER 101 FACTORY EDITION are technically refined, light, and exceptionally playful freeride skis from Slovenian manufacturer ELAN, designed for skiers who want to explore the entire mountain, enjoy fresh powder, perform creative turns, and take advantage of every natural terrain as an opportunity for fun.

The PLAYMAKER 101 FACTORY EDITION model combines the stability and buoyancy of freeride skis with the playfulness and maneuverability of freestyle Twin Tip construction. It is aimed at skiers who do not want to be restricted to groomed runs alone, but seek a versatile ski for various snow conditions, natural jumps, forest lines, bumps, and riding in untracked terrain.

With a width of 101 mm under the boot the ski provides good buoyancy in soft snow, while maintaining responsiveness and handling on hardened surfaces. This width represents an excellent balance between freeride capability and versatile on-piste use.

A feature of the model is the advanced Dual Float Technology, which combines progressively lifted front and rear tips. This design enables easier maneuvering, pleasant glide on soft snow, and a playful feel when changing direction.

The Surf Rocker profile combines lifted front and rear tips with a classic camber underfoot. This allows good buoyancy, easier release of the edges, effective turning, and a more reliable contact with the snow.

Skis feature the advanced Tubelite Woodcore wooden core, additionally reinforced with Carbon Rods, contributing to responsiveness, energetic pop, and the playful character of the ski.

The 360° Sidewall technology ensures more efficient transfer of forces to the edge and helps improve grip on hard snow.

An additional advantage is the special 3D Trapezoid construction of the upper part of the ski, which creates a stable platform under the boot and helps reduce unnecessary weight.

For effective gliding, the High Speed Gliding Base provides good glide across a range of snow conditions.

Because of the Twin Tip design, the skis are also suitable for creative freestyle skiing, jumps, and riding switch.

The FACTORY EDITION represents a special version of the PLAYMAKER 101 series for the 2023/2024 season. It combines the characteristic technologies of the Playmaker 101 with the distinctive look of a special edition.

ELAN PLAYMAKER 101 FACTORY EDITION are an excellent choice for skiers who want light, playful, and responsive freeride skis for powder, varied terrain, freestyle elements, and occasional on-piste skiing.

Technologies and their benefits

Lengths and radii

How to choose the right length?

When selecting length, consider height, weight, skill level, and intended skiing style.

Shorter skis are generally more maneuverable and suitable for creative skiing and quick direction changes.

Longer skis typically provide more surface area for powder and a more stable feel at higher speeds.

Because of lifted tips, the Playmaker 101 may feel a bit shorter on snow than a classic ski of the same length.

When choosing, it is recommended to consult with a professional.
