As the human body regulates thermal balance primarily through the extremities during exertion, refined temperature and moisture management is necessary, especially when protecting the hands. Glove specialist Reusch has used two Polartec® technologies for the mountaineering models Pamir and Fitzroy: Polartec® Alpha® for breathable thermal insulation and Polartec® Power Dry®, which has excellent drying properties.
Composition:
60% polyamide, 40% polyester

Polartec® Alpha®
Unlike down and other synthetic thermal insulations, Polartec® Alpha® is a single-layer continuous, loose knit. It is a breathable material on the inner and outer sides of the thermal insulation layer. Polartec® Alpha® keeps you warm even when wet and dries much faster than thermal insulation materials previously available on the market. Especially light and compressible, it provides warmth without weight and repels wind.
Polartec® Power Dry®
Used when it is very important that the skin stays dry during physical exertion. Polartec® Power Dry® is characterized by a patented two-component knit construction. Two yarns of different thicknesses on the inner and outer sides of the fabric ensure particularly fast and efficient transport of moisture from the skin to the outer side of the fabric, where it can evaporate.
