1. Consider your skill level
- Beginners: Choose softer, shorter and more forgiving skis that make turning easier.
- Intermediate skiers: Your skis should be a little longer, more stable and more responsive.
- Advanced skiers: Stiffer and longer skis give better edge grip at higher speeds.
2. Choose the ski type for the terrain
- All-mountain: Versatile skis for a wide range of conditions.
- Race skis: More specialised. Excellent on groomed slopes and for precise turns.
- Freeride: Wider skis for skiing off-piste and in fresh snow.
- Freestyle: Lighter and more agile, ideal for tricks and the park.
3. Ski length
As a rule, skis should reach somewhere between your chin and eye level. Choose slightly longer skis for more dynamic skiing and shorter ones for more agility. The recommended length for most Elan skis is 5 to 15 cm less than your height, depending on the intended use. Also pay attention to the characteristics of the ski itself and adapt your choice to your preferences (turn radius).
